Please accept my apology for taking so long to get you the promised documents and recordings from What Box 2022.
The fault is 100% mine. Anyone who has spoken with Kim knows she’s been beyond upset with me and my inability to complete this task. As you can imagine, it’s caused her many cases of lockjaw. I can also report that there were days when her jaw was not in the least little bit locked. Yep, I got several A-1 butt chewings.
In addition, Maria, Lindsey, and Adrian are very disappointed with me, as they should be. No one wants to be associated with someone who doesn’t quickly fulfill his promises.
I got into a rut, a mental block. Day after day, I looked at this project and it stared back at me. It was a standoff that’s lasted nearly four months.
As I told everyone at the start of What Box, if, for any reason, you want a refund, I’ll gladly provide a refund, no questions asked. This is as true today as the day I said it.
You may wonder what happened. You deserve an answer.
As soon as What Box ended, I strongly considered quitting teaching.
Why? I didn’t feel I was making a difference. This feeling stayed
with me for a couple of months. I couldn’t shake it.
Then in October, Kim and I attended an event Robyn Thompson taught in Branson, Missouri. It was amazing to watch how the folks attending
responded to Robyn. It was more than obvious that Robyn has changed many lives for the better.
In November, Kim and I attended an event in Ohio lead by Vena Jones Cox. Around 1,000
investors attended. It was more than obvious that Vena has changed many lives for the better.
Two weeks ago, we attended Pete Fortunato’s Paper Course in Tampa. When you watch Pete teach, you quickly
realize you’re watching a man on a mission. Trying to complete his 340-page manual on Sunday, Pete taught from 1:30 pm to 7:00 pm without taking a single break. He never left the podium. Pete is 75 years young. He always gives everything he has, and he’s done this for decades.
Teaching anything is a hard job. As a teacher, many of the people I’ve helped failed. If failing wasn’t bad enough, they then quit. Failing is temporary. Quitting is permanent. I take it very personal when someone quits.
About a week ago, I had a discussion with a man who is the older brother I never had. Dyches Boddiford. I told him what I was feeling. He explained – wisely – that he’s had similar feelings but kept teaching anyway.
Then it hit me: What if when feeling this way Dyches had quit teaching just before Kim and I met him in 1997? There’s no way Kim and I would be where we are today without Dyches’ guidance.
My problem became self-evident. When looking at teaching, I was focusing on my failures. I wasn’t thinking about all the folks Kim and I have helped and can help.
This realization brought my pity party to end.
Please know this is
not an excuse. There is no excuse. I simply did not do what I promised, and for that I apologize.
With this email, you’ll find a Drobox link to the folder I promised to send you in August at
